Notes

Plant Ranger is an in-development house plant care system that uses b-parasites to collect data. We want to support the community and are pleased to sell devices from our inventory at cost. We will update the price as our unit cost changes

Tariffs on these devices have been in flux. They were 7.5% originally, 55% on the previous batch, and roughly 35% on this one. We are actively looking for US-based manufacturers in hopes of reducing the cost.

Total: $23.84

To sell b-parasites in the US, the FCC requires that they be tested for spurious emissions. The $1 fee helps recoup the cost of this testing and will be removed once the cost of testing the v2.0.0 hardware is recovered. Devices we deploy for Plant Ranger users also count toward recovering this cost.

The devices we sell must be programmed similarly enough to the sample provided to the lab that we are confident the lab results remain valid. For this reason we only program the device with the BLE firmware.
