Notes

Plant Ranger is an in-development house plant care system that uses the b-parasites to collect data. We desire to support the commnity and are pleased to sell devices from our inventory at cost. As we purchase larger batch sizes the price will be updated to reflect the reduced unit cost. 

Price breakdown:

• Batch of 50 units costs $693 ($13.86/unit)
• FCC Part 15b testing ($2450) recovery fee ($1/unit)
• Progamming ($1/unit)

Total: $15.89

To sell b-parasites in the US, the FCC requires that it be checked for suprious emissions. The $1 fee is included to help recoup the cost of this testing. The fee will be removed when the cost of testing the 2.0.0 version is recovered. Non-community devices (ones that are intended for use by Plant Ranger users) are also counting towards the dropping of this fee.

The devices we sell are required to be programmed similar enough to the sample provided to the lab that we are confident the lab results are still valid. For this reason we only program the device with the BLE firmware.
